You always knew it would happen…

9 01 2010

…but it feels like it’s come too soon.

There’s that first day when you come home with your brand new camera. It’s shiny, tiny — a pure pixelated joy. Despite its newness to the world, it takes fabulously detailed photos every time it blinks. It’s your little wonder. But then, six years later (eighty in camera years), its eye begin to fail. You see a water gloss over the lens, a scratch, and suddenly its focus is not where you want it to be. Batteries barely make it smile anymore. It’s the twilight years for my camera, but I’ll be with it to the end, so please bear with me if a few shots are not crystal clear. I just have a hard time letting go.
